Paris Fashion Week - Menswear

Looky-likey window display. More to come on this photographer...
Logo spotting on the Parisian streets (before the sun came out).
A glimpse inside 'The Showroom Next Door' run by the Touba team (Fode and Yuko photographed here with a buyer). They transform a Paris apartment (owned by Lazarides Gallery) in to a menswear clothing and fine jewellery showroom for 2 weeks over fashion week.
108 Rue Vieille de Temple, Paris.
Here below is a snapshot of the Marwood SS14 collection. Products include braces, woven ties, lace hand made ties and bow ties, scarves and mohair socks. All being received well!
We met the lovely editors from New York Times Magazine. They definitely have the best business card in the pile we are collecting. 3D engineered paper.

Marwood SS14 at London Collections: Men

2 weeks has past since our last post and this has been mainly due to London Collections: Men - the preparation, the show and the aftermath! LC:M is London Men's Fashion Week and it kicks of the menswear fashion calendar now. The 3 day showcase only began this time last year but has been a big success with the likes of Burberry and McQueen bringing their men's shows back to London and supporting the latest talent such as Agi & Sam, Lou Dalton, Matthew Miller and Christopher Raeburn.

Marwood has a nice spot in the Accessories Showroom and we were able to greet the crowds piling in for the catwalk shows. The photos below are snapshots of the new SS14 collection - not available to buy until November later this year - however we wanted to share these with you. For more instant updates we are on instagram if you want to follow the Marwood travels.

Scroll down to read about the inspiration behind the collection...

Marwood’s SS14 collection was inspired by the contrast of man-made patterns with time-worn surfaces. Mosaic construction with decayed texture.

Having found a book of photographs ‘Interiors’ by Orri, the seasonal textiles and desert colours emerged. Orri photographed deserted farmhouses in Iceland as he found them – captivated by the beauty of what used to be bright, alive and once inhabited. He captured adjoining painted walls affected by time and neglect – dusty, dirtied tones of their original colours.

Monochrome mosaic tiles in old English hallways provided a sharp, graphic contrast to the story. New silk woven jacquards were formed from ink-drawings. A hand-drawn mosaic floor design became a trans-seasonal men’s wool/silk shawl.

The new range includes woven ties, scarves, luxurious jacquard pocket squares and a wide offer of self-tie bow ties as well as new colours in suspenders. Marwood’s lace neckwear is offered in washed-out khaki and brown silk linings behind ecru crest and mesh lace patterns. For evening attire the best selling mesh lace style has been reinterpreted in black lace over washed-brown silk.  Also, building on the success of last season’s mohair socks, a lighter summer weight is offered for SS14 in a new range of hand-dyed colours. All product is designed, developed and made in the UK using English cloth.

If you wish to browse the Marwood collections, they are for sale on our website. Watch out in July for the new Autumn/Winter 2013/14 collection to go online. We will keep you informed.
